Ohio Makes It Easier to Identify Registered Repair Shops
The Ohio Motor Vehicle Board recently amended administrative rules to help customers more easily identify registered repair shops in Ohio. Under the change, repair facilities will be required to include their registration numbers on all invoices and estimates. Additionally, the Board will be providing repair shops with window decals that can be easily displayed. Through these efforts, the Board hopes to assist customers in identifying registered shops, giving them peace-of-mind that their vehicles are being repaired by registered, law-abiding entities in Ohio. The new policy will take effect on September 8th.
The Motor Vehicle Repair Board has been a valuable resource for Ohio’s collision repair industry for over 15 years. Through its work, entities operating illegally as collision repair facilities are identified and brought into compliance. The changes proposed by the Board will ensure that registered businesses are easily identified by including their registration number on all invoices and estimates. Furthermore, by issuing window decals, the general public, insurance carriers, and suppliers can see them and know what businesses are legally registered. The decals will be mailed with new registration certificates at each shop’s next renewal.
