ASA-Ohio will be hosting meetings in September with the Ohio EPA Office of Compliance Assistance and Pollution Prevention (OCAPP). The meetings will be held throughout the state and will be offered free of charge. The focus of this opportunity is to give independent shops access to information regarding EPA regulation. All shops understand the importance of complying with the EPA, but it can be confusing at times.
OCAPP is designed to provide information and resources to small businesses to help them comply with environmental regulations. Services of the office include a toll-free hotline, on-site compliance and P2 assessments, workshops/training, plain-English publications library and assistance in completing permit application forms. The office is here to help, not hurt. Many members have worked with OCAPP in the past and it has helped them save time and money when EPA inspections occurred.
The Director of OCAPP spoke at the Spring Quarterly meeting in Toledo, Ohio and the program was so helpful the board felt it was imperative that all of our members heard the message. The meeting topics will include, preparing for an EPA inspection, the Federal 6H rule and the upcoming changes with E-check. The speaker at each meeting will be the Compliance Assistance Specialist for that region. This way answers will be specific to the region in which your business is located.
